Benefits for Faculty and Students
The BDL program facilitates deeper collaboration between different faculty members and faculty and industry. Part of the funds contributed from industry is to support student stipends and infrastructure needs of students (through the UBC ML Cluster).
In addition, forming sponsored research projects with companies already a member of the industrial affiliate program is facilitated through the existing agreement.
Becoming a Member
For a student to become a member of the consortium, they need to be supervised by a member faculty.
Faculty members may apply to join the program by contacting plai-manager@cs.ubc.ca. The decision to join BDL is made by the steering committee of the program.
