  • Ability to form multi-lateral collaboration that can leverage matching funds from various sources

Becoming a Member

The consortium has three different levels of membership for industrial partners:

Silver (min. $25,000 contribution annually)

  • Public recognition as a member on the Consortium website
  • Support in promoting summer jobs, internships and full-time positions at UBC
  • Invitation to join seminars, networking events and reading groups organized by the Consortium
  • Access to a moderated Consortium mailing list where opportunities can be shared amongst members

Gold (min. $100,000 contribution annually)

  • All benefits of Silver 
  • Up to 5 individuals from the Member Institution may be added to the consortium online community (Slack/Teams)
  • to directly interact with UBC researchers 
  • Opportunity to send visiting researchers to UBC (one visitor per year, at discretion of the University)

Platinum (min. $250,000 contribution annually)

  • All benefits of Gold (and an additional 10 individuals for the online community and up to 2 additional visitors) 
  • May be invited to guest lecture at UBC seminars, and/or other events organized by the Consortium
  • Can expect to select 3 discussion topics for reading groups or events
  • Will be invited to submit technical challenge topics for hackathons
  • Will be invited to have one representative in each of the Consortium Working Groups

Note:

  • Membership fees are paid annually. A three-year commitment expected when joining this initiative. 
  • We offer a 50% discount to small medium enterprises in BC with 100 or fewer employees.
